Well Folks, I finished my 1st commision. I never planned on selling them, but many people liked my 1st guitar. I just guess I am lucky. Here are some picts. Like my first, it is a 24.9 OM cocobolo cedar. ![]() ![]() |

Very nice, Andy. That Cocobolo looks striking. I really like your headstock laminate and shape also. Is the dog a Lab? |

Congratulations! Very gratifying. What did you feel went best or different about this one than the first 3? Every instrument can be a learning lesson and each I build usually hits me with an "AHA!" moment where I hear or see something that I make a note of to remember for the next guitar. |

Thanks for all the kind words. I have learned a lot, because of the OLF. Each guitar is easier to build and each is a bit faster. I am learning from my mistakes. I still make may on each, but they are not as devistating. I had my first guitar at work....big mistake....sort of. Everyone loved the tone on that guitar and I got 5 commisions. Talk about overload. My day job is over 80 hours a week!!!! This guitar was purchased by a PACU nurse for a suprise christmas present for her husband. (His intials on the 12th fret) I got it done just in time. Details for above The fiinish is urethane..(Tony F did it for me) Deeper body 4.5 The tuners are waverlys with ebony knobs The combination of cocobolo and cedar is not only striking in appearance, but the tone of this instument is AWESOME. I have made 2 and everyone that plays them are blown away by the tone. Huge sustain and very balanced. This guitar just sings!!! I will put up some more picts Thanks again Andy |

Here are some picts. The pink letter B is an inside joke between the nurse and her husband. It seems every gift that she give him has something pink. I thought long on how on a nice guitar to put pink on it without ruining it. I made a pink letter B (Her name is Brandy) with dyed castining Resin and inlayed it into the ebony heel cap Andy PS Doug asked if it was a lab...no I have a brittany and a beagle and it is a combination of both. My wife gave me the name for my guitars. Lazy Dog Guitars ![]() |
